On Friday morning at 08:08 2/18/2010 SD75 and Burlington County 3621 were dispatched to the NJTP at MP 33.7 N for a reported car fire. State Police on location reporting it to be well involved. Engine 3621 had passed it going south and reported it to SD75 to be well involved. SD75 arrived short time later and confirmed the report. FF McLean had use an 1 3/4 hand line to extinguish the fire. 3621 crew help with popping open the rear door with the Hurst tools to extinguish some paper in the rear of the car.

 

11/15/09 - Beaver Brook Regional Alliance Duty Crew Rescue Assignment on Turnpike 

At approx. 0230 hrs Squad 32 was dispatched to the NJ Turnpike N/B for an MVA along with Mt. Laurel FD. Squad 32 arrived to find a car vs tree with a single occupant trapped, upgrading to a rescue assignment. The squad company went to work along with MLFD Engine 362 to remove the doors and roof. The duty crew was available off the Turnpike at 0345 hrs. (Article provided from Bellmawr Fire Department)

11/16/09 - Motor Vehicle Accident - Black Horse Pike & 3rd Ave

Squad 75 and BLS 787 were dispatched to an accident between a school bus and a mini van. In total, 4 patients were transported to local hospitals by BLS 787 and BLS 318 (Bellmawr) while Squad 75 applied oil dry to fluids on the roadway and secured power to the 2 vehicles. A request for a sand truck was made to NJ Dept of Transportation due slippery conditions on the road due to the accident that stretched for 4 blocks of the Southbound lane of the Black Horse Pike.

 

11/18/09 - Motor Vehicle Accident / Rescue Assignment on I-295

BLS 787 responded to I-295 for an accident with entrapment along with Rescue 32 (Bellmawr), Engine 331 (Bellmawr), Squad 51 (Gloucester City), BLS 318 (Bellmawr), and BLS 296 (Haddon Heights). Once the extrication was complete, BLS 787 along with Medic transported the vehicle's driver to Cooper Trauma Center.

New Jersey Turnpike Rescue Assignment
October 15, 2009

Squad 75 (Runnemede) and Squad 13 (Cherry Hill) were dispatched to a MVA on the NJTP in the area of Interchange 3. 701 (Moriarty) arrived and reported a commercial box truck vs a dump truck w/ one ejection and one driver heavily entrapped. The victim ejected was an obvious DOA being pinned between the front end of the box truck and rear axle area of the dump truck. Due to the heavy entrapment of the box truck driver, 701 special called Rescue 32 to the scene. Rescue 32 arrived w/ 7 and assisted the squad companies with stabilization. Once stabilization was complete, all three companies worked flawlessly together to extricate the driver. Crews completed a roof removal and dash displacement to free the driver. Squad 75 and Rescue 32 remained on location to assist NJSP w/ the body recovery.

Boat Recovery

On April 26, 2009, Squad 75 and Marine 75 were dispatched for a Service Assignment to assist a resident in recovering a row boat that had floated away from the shore line on Timber Creek. Crews were able to recover the boat and secure it to shore.

Overturned Tanker / Haz Mat Incident on New Jersey Turnpike

On May 16, 2009, Squad 75, Squad 13 (Cherry Hill) and BLS 787 were dispatched to Interchange # 3 of the New Jersey Turnpike for a Motor Vehicle Accident. BLS 787 arrived on location reporting a tanker truck overturned on its side on the entrance ramp to the Turnpike from Rt 168 South (Black Horse Pike), leaking product onto the roadway. The incident was upgraded to a Hazardous Materials incident, brining Haz Mat 13 (Cherry Hill) and Canteens 1 & 2 to the scene. Driver of the tanker truck was transported to Cooper Trauma Center by BLS 787. Crews remained on location for approximately 9 hours identifying the product, containing the spill, and cutting an access hole in the tanker’s outer skin for the commercial recovery crew. Through the Beaver Brook Regional Alliance, personnel from Bellmawr and Barrington Fire Departments were utilized along with Runnemede’s members. Members from all 3 Departments were used to fill on-scene positions and to staff Squad 32 to cover additional runs in the 3 towns.
