Safety & Survival Training
October 26, 2009

Members of the Beaver Brook Regional Fire Alliance participated in hands on training provided by the Safety and Survival Training, LLC. Firefighters participated in physically demanding evolutions covering wall breaching, through the floor removal / recoveries, roof removals, and basement ventilation. TRAINING DIVISION

 

It is the goal of the Training Division to provide comprehensive and realistic training to the Department's members so they can continue to provide the residents of the Borough of Runnemede and neighboring communities with high quality fire/rescue and emergency medical services.

 
In House Training
 

The Training Division will conduct annual training for Department Members to maintain OSHA Mandated Training and also training to maintain state certifications in both fire and emergency medical services. These requirements along with monthly training classes will make up our Four-Tier Training Curriculum. The Training Division of the Runnemede Fire Department is an approved eligible training organization by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety.

 
Below is our Four-Tier Training Curriculum.
 
  • Level Four - Live Operation Training
  • Level Three - Monthly Department Training
  • Level Two - Walk-in Training
  • Level One - Recruit Training
 

Level One - Recruit Training:

Recruit training will be conducted by a member of the Training Division to new members and member's who have not completed State Requirements for Firefighter One. It will cover department operations and apparatus/equipment familiarity. This training will be conducted monthly and posted.

 

Level Two - Walk in Training:

Walk in training will take place once a month on the fourth Monday of each month. It is open to all members. This training will be based on basic firefighter skills that have been learned and senior officers deem necessary to review to increase operational effectiveness and readiness.

 

Level Three - Monthly Department Training:

Monthly Department Training will be conducted on the second Monday of every month during the morning and evening. This training is based on an annual curriculum. This curriculum will cover annual certifications and department minimum requirements for the department operational functions.

 

Level Four - Live Operations Training:

Live Operations Training are the culmination of the Monthly Department Training Curriculum. This training will be based on the department's functional operational objectives.

 
Outside Training
 

The Training Division will post training opportunities from agencies that conduct Fire and Emergency Services Training and encourage all members to take advantage of this training. All training is posted on the Training Division Information Board for all members to review.

A posted procedure for requesting outside training is located on the Information Board and all needed forms and are also located in this same area.
